When: 13th June 2018

Where: SCWO, 96 Waterloo Street 187967

Time: 7.00pm – 8.30pm

Cybersecurity is a term often heard at work, in the news, through banks' communications to us customers, on social media sites, and so on.

What does it really mean? Is it really scary? Are we targets?  Why is it important and what does it mean to you - as a working professional, as a parent/sibling/partner?

What are practical things that you can do to protect yourself from having your identity (and reputation) compromised?

Whilst not a “one to cover all grounds” session, this interactive talk aims to empower you with practical insights on cybersecurity, and what it means to you and what you can do to help protect yourself and loved ones.

Ms Ng Yi Ling

Ms Yi Ling is an Information Security Professional with a global Fortune 500 bank will be sharing more on Cybersecurity and You. With 14 years of experience, Cybersecurity is by far the most fascinatingdomain that she has had the privilege of experiencing and working on to date.  The consistently random evolution of cyber threates and countermeasure, facts and myths, and depth of skills and knowledge inplay juxtaposed with a breadth of barely-there visibility.

She claims no expertise or mastery in this field but believes with the maxim that "Information is King: Knowledge is Power" and that through sharing and working together as a community, cybersecurity preparedness will cease to be a case of "what" but "when".
