Nadia A. Samdin is a young Singaporean who believes that one should “Start where you are, Use what you have, Do what you can”. Trained as a corporate lawyer after graduating from Singapore Management University, Nadia works with her 110%, a curious mind, and a cup of coffee in hand. Currently, she is a producer with Channel NewsAsia working on current affairs programs where she spends her days chasing down stories and researching hot topics of the week. Her favourite part of the job is being able to meet people from all walks of life and tell their stories.

Passionate about youth development and civic engagement, Nadia enjoys both the strategic and hands-on, interactive elements of service. Some of the appointments she holds include: Council Member – National Youth Council, where she helped steer Shine Festival 2016, and Council Member – Lembaga Biasiswa Kenangan Maulud, where she co-initiated and heads the youth programs. She is also currently the youngest district councillor at South East Community Development Council, where she first started off as a volunteer working on community films, mentorship and youth programs in 2005.

Nadia is chatty by nature and has years of emceeing and moderating under her belt, including platforms such as the Youth Olympic Games, Singapore International Energy Week and Baybeats Music Festival. She approaches life as an adventure, and has part of her heart in the ocean as a passionate diver, and another part in Northern Thailand where she works with indigenous rights organisations to run Homes in the Hills - a project supporting women empowerment, cultural preservation and youth education causes in village community schools.
